Mooring Advisory System for "Glomar Grand Banks" Synectica have been awarded the contract to supply a Mooring Advisory System (MAS) for the Global Santa-Fe drilling semi "Glomar Grand Banks". The Mooring Advisory system is being provided to equip the rig for its contract with Husky Energy (Canada) to drill production and injection wells on the White Rose development offshore Eastern Canada. Synectica won the supply contract on the basis of their sophisticated software for implementing Mooring Advisory Systems, which has been developed over many years and fully proven in operation. The system being supplied is similar to the Synectica MAS that has been operating successfully since 2000 onboard the Transocean semi "Henry Goodrich" for its development drilling role at Terra Nova - around 50km south of White Rose.

Key features of the MAS system being provided for "Glomar Grand Banks" are: Main system on the bridge plus a remote terminal in the control room. Interfacing of Position, Mooring, Riser, Motion and Weather data. Comprehensive data processing, logging, archiving and graphical review. Continuous monitoring of vessel and mooring lines including touchdown points. Interactive operator displays and comprehensive alarm management functions. Advisory computations for event simulation, operation planning and optimisation.
